At Erikson School, our elementary students are fully immersed in the language for at least 50% of their day, allowing them to acquire tools that facilitate learning and thinking in English. Students understand the context of the language while being exposed to the natural expression of words and phrases allowing them to see, hear, feel, think, and live the language. We are committed to having student-centered classrooms that promote communicative language teaching and learning while emphasizing the multiple intelligences. As a school, we are also focused on environmental and financial literacy among our students.

The main role of an Erikson School English teacher is to support students in their learning development involved with the various subjects, skills, abilities, and values in English, Science, and Geography. The Erikson School teacher is committed to helping our students change our community for the better.

The teacher must be able to imagine, create, and sustain a classroom culture that ensures competent and compelling learning and incorporates pedagogical innovations and investigation. They must utilize the appropriate pedagogical methodology in order to achieve established program objectives and meet the needs of students with empathy and care for the whole person.
