ESL Boards offers a free, ATS-friendly Word resume template that you can download and customize. The template is designed specifically for ESL teaching positions and includes sections for:

How to download
Log in to your free account, then visit the Career Center or Downloads section. The resume template is available as an editable .docx file.
ATS optimization tips
To ensure your resume passes through Applicant Tracking Systems:
- Use standard headings — “Experience”, “Education”, “Skills”. Avoid creative section names.
- Avoid tables and columns — These can scramble when parsed by ATS software.
- Use standard fonts — Arial, Calibri, or Times New Roman at 10-12pt.
- Include keywords — Mirror language from the job posting (e.g., “TEFL”, “young learners”, “IELTS”).
- Save as PDF — Unless the employer specifically requests .docx, PDF preserves formatting best.
- Keep it concise — One page for less than 10 years of experience, two pages maximum.
