I am an American based out of Houston, Texas. I am an honors graduate (Summa Cum Laude) of English with a concentration in Applied Linguistics, and I have experience tutoring both English and Arabic. I also have experience privately tutoring people in-person and online. In addition, I've completed a minor in Arab Studies. I have completed the CELTA certificate from the University of Texas at Austin in-person as well as the TEAL certification from the University of Houston which encompasses 15 credit hours of ESL foundation. I, myself, am an adult learner of Arabic and have achieved fluency in the Gulf dialect. I believe this would give me an advantage in working with Arab students. I would be able to build strong rapport with local students and relate to them learning English. And if needed, I am able to convey grammar concepts in Arabic. However, my learning philosophy depends on consistent high-frequency English input, so I would guage the need to communicate in Arabic.
