Job Description

Whales English is looking for qualified and dedicated English teachers!

Whales English is an elite online English school located in Beijing, China. We provide high-quality education to young learners via an interactive online platform. 

The Role:

  • 25 or 50-minute full immersion English lessons with 2 students
  • The curriculum is from National Geographic Learning and Oxford Reading Tree
  • You will begin teaching trial classes (assigned by the company), and then you will be selected by the parents to teach regular classes
  • Regular classes run for 30 weeks, giving you more security
  • Class times are 18:00-21:00 weekdays and 8:00-21:00 on the weekends (Beijing Time)

The Benefits:

  • The pay rate is $18-$26 USD per 50-minute class, which varies from level to level and from class to class
  • Additional bonuses for full attendance, trial conversions, and working during certain hours. Some teachers make up to $450 USD extra per month 
  • All lesson materials are provided

  • Additional career opportunities such as an evaluator or trainer

Requirements:

  • Native English speaker from the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand (this is non-negotiable) 
  • Bachelor degree or higher
  • Teaching certificate, such as CELTA or TESOL
  • At least 1 year of experience teaching children (ESL preferred)
  • Desire to engage and inspire young learners
  • A computer or laptop and a strong internet connection
  • Can commit to at least 8 peak Beijing hours
