Position Summary
The Korean Language Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality Korean language instruction to students at various proficiency levels. The teacher will create engaging lessons that develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while also introducing Korean culture, communication styles, and real-world language use.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Korean language classes according to the school’s curriculum, schedule, and academic standards.
Prepare lesson plans, classroom activities, assignments, quizzes, and assessments appropriate for students’ language levels.
Help students improve Korean pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, conversation skills, reading comprehension, and writing ability.
Incorporate Korean culture, customs, history, food, music, media, and daily-life communication into lessons when appropriate.
Monitor student attendance, participation, and academic progress.
Provide feedback, academic support, and encouragement to help students meet learning goals.
Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, progress reports, and classroom documentation.
Create a positive, respectful, and interactive classroom environment.
Communicate with school administration regarding student progress, classroom needs, and any academic concerns.
Participate in teacher meetings, training sessions, curriculum development, and school events as required.
Follow all school policies and procedures related to instruction, student conduct, attendance, and academic integrity.
Qualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Korean.
Strong English communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree preferred; degree in Korean, education, linguistics, language teaching, or a related field is a plus.
Prior teaching experience preferred, especially teaching Korean as a foreign language.
Ability to teach students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills.
Comfortable using technology, online learning platforms, and multimedia teaching tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching Korean to international students or adult learners.
Knowledge of Korean language proficiency standards, such as TOPIK.
Teaching certificate, TESOL certificate, Korean language teaching certificate, or equivalent training.
Experience developing curriculum, lesson plans, and student assessments.
Work Schedule
Schedule may vary depending on class assignments. Classes may be offered during mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends based on student enrollment and school needs.
Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, course assignment, and school policy.
