ESL Jobs in the South of China

Our public schools in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan and Huizhou are now recruiting qualified English teachers to be a part of our close-knit community of professional teachers. We currently have openings for our university, high school, middle school, primary school & kindergarten. Students are aged from 1 to 22 years old, depending on the type of school.

We use a range of teaching methodologies and materials to ensure students grow as confident communicators. Classes focus on a communicative approach and make use of English activities, group work, projects, English-based games as well as story telling and role-plays. The maximum working hours per week is 35 so teachers will still have sufficient time to explore around the city that they’re assigned to and experience a unique part of China with a long history of kung fu & martial arts and is also known as the paradise for food-lovers. Teachers will be teaching averagely 20 to 45 students per class.

Teach English in Guangzhou

Guangzhou, a prosperous metropolis full of vigor, is the capital city of Guangdong province located along the south coastline of China. Being an excellent port on the Pearl River navigable to the South China Sea, and with fast accessibility to Hong Kong and Macau, Guangzhou serves as the political, economic, scientific, educational and cultural center in the Guangdong area.

Guangzhou is considered as the paradise for food-lovers in south China. Guangzhou dish represents well the Guangdong cuisine, which is one among the most famous eight cuisines in China. A large amount of time-honored restaurants and quality new restaurants serve various authentic Guangzhou dishes, snacks, and drinks. Explore a modern, developing city with an exciting mix of restaurants, bars, shopping as well as tradition elements.

Main Responsibilities

-Maximum number of 18 – 24 teaching hours per week
-Monday to Friday schedule (8:00am – 12:00pm and 2:30pm to 5:30pm)
-Average of 20 to 40 students per class
-Student ages: 3 to 22 year olds
-Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments, exams, etc.)
-Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback
-Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities
-Observe and understand students’ behavior and educational needs

Compensation

-Excellent base salary: 16,000 – 24,000 RMB per month (gross)
-Free accommodation provided by the school OR 2,000 RMB housing allowance per month
-Air ticket to China pre-paid upfront or airfare reimbursement on contract completion: 5,000 RMB
-Hotel allowance provided upon arrival at our school
-Legal ‘Z’ work visa provided
-Health insurance provided
-Free weekly Mandarin classes provided
-Visa document reimbursement: 2,000 RMB
-Annual salary increase based on performance
-All national holidays plus 3,000 RMB for winter and 5,000 RMB for summer holidays
-Airport pick-up service
-One week teaching job orientation and cultural immersion will be provided by our experienced team upon your arrival
-Professional pre-job training with on-going program supervision

Requirements

-Bachelor’s degree
-TEFL certificate (120 hours or above) required (No TEFL? – We recommend INTESOL www.GoldStarT[replace]/INTESOL)
-Native English speaker from USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand or Ireland
-2 years of teaching experience preferred (will consider candidates with no experience)
-Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills
-Well-organized and committed
-Creative and energetic
