EB Earlybirds is a leading provider of drama, reader’s theater and ESL courses for the public school sector in Shanghai. Our students develop confidence, social skills and creativity through improvisation, script-based performances and children’s theater plays. EB was founded with the support of Shanghai Student Post and aims to become a center for artistic development for children.

EB is looking for a Drama Play Coach/Director for primary and middle school students in bilingual schools. Our program delivers weekly drama classes to students in premier schools in Shanghai. The Drama play Coach/Director will need to work from an established curriculum on selected courses. They will also need to be able to develop activities building towards the final performance of a play and provide any directorial guidance for such performances.

The ideal candidate will:
-have a background in drama or performing arts
-have proven classroom management skills with primary and/or secondary school students
-be able to direct and guide the production of a theater performance
-be passionate about developing drama skills in students
-be a proficient user of a standard variety of English

Early Birds offers:
-a 12-month contract with a net salary of 20,000 to 26,000 RMB, and 2-month probation
-10% salary increase after probation
-renewable for an extended period

Responsibilities include:
-teaching Creative Drama courses with English as medium of instruction
-teaching Readers Theater courses
-directing and guiding the production of performances
-recording and reporting on course contents and student progress
-adhering to high standards of professional conduct
